Gap is the capital city of the Hautes-Alpes 40 kms East of La Source. Steeped in 2000 years of history and with a love of culture and nature this city and its surrounding area make it a place well worth visiting. If you want to travel slightly further the largest man made lake in Europe the Serre-Poncon can be found 15 minutes after Gap. Travel South from La Source and you will find the town of Sisteron with its ancient well preserved Citadel perched high on the rock. This fortress stands across the valley as a barrier and gives a 150 kms view of the countryside from North to South, the Citadel and views are not to be missed. The Gorges de la Meouge, Die and Rosans are also places well worth a visit.
