Blissful tranquility in a large tropical garden of water and birdsong, Bamboo Guesthouse in Knysna is perfectly situated midway between two award winning golf courses, a 5 minute drive to Knysna’s bustling town center with vibrant waterfront and restaurants, the famous Heads and Leisure Isle’s two sandy beaches.

The 5 beautifully decorated garden rooms, accessed via elevated wooden walkways through our dense tropical garden, and two well equipped bamboo screened courtyard suites each have their own entrance and are as sociable or private as one may wish to be.

All our rooms are equipped with colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, ceiling fan, ipod docking radio clock and a bar fridge. Your private terrace is a perfect place, after a day filled with all the excitement the Garden Route has on offer, to relax and enjoy a cold drink while taking in the many bird varieties the garden attracts.

Guests have the choice of a light continental breakfast or a full English breakfast served in our poolside Boma tucked under trees in a corner of the garden. Evenings spent in around Boma’s firepit are a treat with the option of a traditional braai (barbeque).

As your hosts we are always available to share our local knowledge of the area and to arrange bookings for restaurants and excursions. For the adventurous we can organise eco-adventure outings and activities including forest cycles, individualized lagoon and ocean sunset cruises, guided walks, abseiling, kayaking, scuba diving, fishing, bungee jumping and lots more.

We have horses for gentle forest walks on our neigbouring farm and a speed boat for leisure time on the lagoon. Nearby are beaches, walks in the forests, elephant parks, monkey land, Big cat rescue centre, Bungy jump, Forest Canopy tours, shark diving, sailing, canoeing, diving and so much more
