The perfect market town of Helmsley is only eight miles away, which effortlessly leads towards Nunnington Hall, Helmsley Castle and Helmsley Walled Garden
The Cleveland Way, a major walking route through North Yorkshire, runs through Hovingham, from Helmsley, and continues around the East Coast of England, passing Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay, until it reaches Filey.
As well as being home to the Benedictine Monks of Ampleforth Abbey, North Yorkshire is also home to Byland Abbey, Fountains Abbey, Rievaulx Abbey (including the fabulous gardens of Rievaulx Terraces), but also many other National Trust and English Heritage properties.
Visit the magnificent Castle Howard or one of the many other National Trust or English Heritage properties close by, as well as Hovingham Hall
