We are classified as a small boutique Hotel with Mexican Colonial charm and yet with all the modern amenities. Our Hotel is located on the shores of Lake Chapala in the small picturesque Village of Ajijic. All local sights and services are within walking distance. Lake Chapala is surrounded by a range of majestic mountains plus the extinct volcano Mount Garcia is located directly across the lake from us.

Ajijic has become a popular retirement center with an expatriate community of approximately 4000 who have decided to make this their second home or in many cases their primary residence.

La Nueva Posada is the newest "old" place in the quaint village of Ajijic. It is reminiscent of a Mexican Colonial Inn with all the old world charm. La Posada is romantic yet sophisticated, with personal attention from the Eager family. We have made a commitment to excellence since arriving in Mexico in 1975.

The Inn has 19 Suites on three levels. Rooms are tastefully decorated with colonial furniture and original watercolors created by local artists. Most of the Suites have breath-taking lake views and the modern features of a grand hotel.

La Posada is embraced on one side by a large tropical garden planted with the exotic flowers for which lakeside is famous. On the other side there is an intimate garden and swimming pool.

Things To Do

Tequila Express - This is a unique train trip. You will visit a 300 year old actual working Tequila distillery. A live Mariachi shall accompany the tour while they are traveling on the train. Historic tour of downtown Guadalajara - Guadalajara is Mexico’s second largest city. Visiting the Cathedral, State Palace, Degollado Theatre, The Metropolitan Museum of History and the Mercado Libertad handcraft market. Ballet Folclorico - On Sundays Guadalajara offers one of Mexico’s most colorful dancing displays presenting regional typical dances from all over Mexico. Golf - We have 8 golf courses within a distance of 1 hour. There are two that are 15 minutes away from Ajijic. Tlaquepaque and Tonala - Visit two of Mexico’s most important handcraft centers.

Our Hotel has 19 rooms, 13 with 2 double beds and 6 with king size beds.

Includes our famous full hot breakfast consisting of a endless cup of hot coffee, seven grain toast, fresh squeezed orange juice or a abundant fruit plate and eggs cooked to order or any one of our delicious Mexican breakfast specials. Breakfast is served from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We offer two dining areas to our guests both with commanding views of the lake. One is a beautiful patio protected from the sun by a giant rubber tree amidst our lush tropical garden. We also have an elegant indoor dining area. Our cuisine is a mix of Continental and Mexican fare.		Room Rate
- Single rates $68 USD to $82 USD (depends on the suite) - Double rates $76 USD to $92 USD (depends on the suite) - Rates include taxes (15% value added tax and 2% state tax) - Discount - 10% to Hotel clients who pay their hotel bills in pesos, dollars, or travelers cheques - Discount - We also offer long term discounts - Credit cards - We except only MasterCard and Visa cards (American Express no)

Directions

Access to Ajijic is quite easy since we are located only 30 kms. from the Guadalajara International Airport. There is excellent cab service from the airport. The charge is $ 20.00 USD for the 25 min. trip to lakeside. If you wish to drive from the border many snowbirds arrive by vehicle taking the 12 hr. mainly toll road drive from Laredo Texas
