Sandpiper House

| We are ideally situated, just a few minutes walk from Whitby's golden sands and the quaint cobbled streets of its historic harbourside. Coastal walks to Sandsend and Robin Hood's Bay will reward you with stunning views, good sea air and even the chance of finding fossils from the days of the dinosaurs.
Built in the 1880s, this elegant Victorian house is perfectly located to access the many delights Whitby and the surrounding areas have to offer. At Sandpiper House you will find everything you would expect from a Four Diamond establishment, plus a whole lot more. As your hosts Manetta and Peter's ethos for quality and generosity, along with their knack for providing excellent personal service whilst remaining quietly in the background, make you feel both totally spoilt and completely at home.
We pride ourselves on using the finest quality local produce to make your stay that little bit more special and great care is taken to provide guests with the best of everything. Steaming cafetieres of fresh coffee, Whitby oak-smoked kippers, smoked below the cliffs of the Abbey headland, award winning locally sourced bacon and sausage from 2nd generation butchers and free-range eggs go someway to making Sandpiper breakfasts a real treat.
In the stylishly furnished bedrooms you'll find more extra special touches including a fine selection of teas and coffees supplied by Rington's, a 100 year old Tea merchant, luxury biscuits and mints, not to mention a range of complimentary toiletries. Open all year round this comfortable home offers seven quality en suite rooms catering for single, twin, double and family breaks. We feel Sandpiper House is no ordinary guest house but somewhere special with many of our guests return here again and again.
Each of our bedrooms have been recently decorated and finished to a very high standard, offering clean, light and airy en-suites facilities. Our double twin and family rooms include settees allowing you to relax and unwind in the comfort of your room. A generous hospitality tray is provided, which includes a choice of beverages supplied by Rington's, which include filtered coffee, instant coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate and individually wrapped tea bags, complemented with an ample supply of milk, luxury biscuits and mints. Ironing facilities are available upon request.
The En-suites are no less well stocked, offering fluffy white towels, soap, shower gel, shower cap, toothbrush and toothpaste as standard in keeping with our aim to make your stay a memorable one. |
