Hostellerie de BroeksterMaar is established in a centuries-old farm tucked away behind trees and bushes in a wonderful, quiet spot in a farming area in the north-west of the province of Groningen. Nowadays de BroeksterMaar is a beautiful converted farm-house with numerous facilities. Weather permitting you can have a lovely time sitting on the terrace sheltered by trees in our nicely laid out garden.
Our ‘hostellerie’ is situated at a small river called the Broekstermaar.
Accommodation
Hostellerie de BroeksterMaar offers two nicely decorated double rooms. In the rooms you will find a television(satellite), radio alarm/cd player, a comfortable sitting area, a safe and, of course, excellent beds. The rooms join the lounge where your breakfast will be served. This is also an excellent place to read your paper and drink your coffee. Opposite your room you will find your private tasteful bathroom with a shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer. Our sauna and solarium are available (at additional cost) for private use.
The hotel price includes a very copious breakfast. As a rule Hostellerie de BroeksterMaar does not serve dinner, but we will be glad to advise you when choosing one of the surprising restaurants in the surroundings. |

Things To Do
|
| Hostellerie de BroeksterMaar directly leads to canoe and fishing water and the surroundings are perfect for biking and hiking. Organising a hiking trip in the Wadden or renting a canoe or bike, we are happy to arrange this for you. From the harbour of Lauwersoog the ferry leaves for the island Schiermonnikoog; a daytrip is a memorable event. Pieterburen where you will find among other things the seals nursery and the botanical garden ‘Domies Toen’ (the pastors garden) is at the short distance of fifteen minutes by bike. The National Park ‘Lauwersmeer’ is nearby and worthwhile to visit any time of the year.Our detailed documentation will bring you to dozens of other places of interest in the surroundings.

Directions

| Through the city of Groningen follow ‘Ring Groningen’ (ring-road) in the direction Zuidhorn/Bedum and take the exit Winsum. Now you are on the N361 (Groningen – Lauwersoog) and have to take the exit WEHE-DEN HOORN. Follow the directions KLOOSTERBUREN. The ANWB sign will direct you to our hostellerie. The first farm on the LEFT is ‘de BroeksterMaar’.
The nearest railway station is Winsum. We’ll be happy to come and get you from the station, if you let us know in advance.
