| Welcome to our family run guest house in the heart of Central Portugal. We offer an ideal location from which you can truly appreciate and explore the unique character of this area when not enjoying the large patios, swimming pool, table tennis, sun loungers and big garden.
We have also provided a comfortable lounge area for our guests, including an Honesty Bar, Fridge, and Satellite Television. RECENTLY ADDED: Computer for guests to contact family/friends, and Wi-Fi, for those who can't leave work at home !
From the Mountains of the 'Serra de Estrela' to the golden beaches of 'Figueira de Foz', the renowned beauty of this area offers a wide variety of choice for everyone. Whether your hobbies include painting, horseriding, walking, cycling, sight-seeing, shopping, eating out, or simply soaking up the sun, you are guaranteed to relax, unwind and enjoy your stay with us.
There are 6 available bedrooms (starting at only 35 euros per night) in our rustic Portuguese property, which is full of character and offers a comfortable, spacious environment for our guests.
The guest house accommodation comprises of 3 double bedrooms with private shower rooms, a further double room and two singles share a shower room.
These rooms are accessible from a verandha which overlooks the private cobbled courtyard - a lovely place to sit and relax in the evenings and catch the late sun.
The dining room which can comfortably sit up to ten people is situated inside the main house. Guests will be provided with a continental breakfast in the mornings (included in the price) and evening meals can be provided, if requested, at an extra cost.

Things To Do
|
| Immediately beside the property are large forests for walking, mountain biking ( we have 3 bikes for guest use ) and bird watching. For more organised outings, there is an outdoor pursuits venue in Gois, 5 minutes away.
In season the 'Praia's' or river beaches offer Bar, Swimming and grassy areas for relaxation.
The historic University city of Coimbra lies on the River Mondego, 30 minutes away. Coimbra has many places of Historic and Cultural interest, as well as superb shopping opportunities. The mountains of the Serra de Estrela are just over 1 hour away, as is Figueira da Foz, a beautiful sandy beach. |

Directions
|
| From Porto Airport follow A1 to Lisbon (Toll charge 6.15 euros).
After Cantanhede/ Mealhada take IP3 to 'Coimbra norte'/ Penacova.
Take second exit to Penacova.
Then first exit off roundabout with the Viking longboat (!), over
bridge to another roundabout (500 yds).
Take the last exit (don’t turn right into Penacova town) until 'T'
junction (1000yds).
Turn left over new bridge, then first right immediately after the
bridge to V.N. do Poiares.
Stay on that road until you get to a roundabout at Poiares.
Straight across the roundabout, carry on past 2 garages (1000 yds), one on either side of the road, to 3 roundabouts.
Go straight across all 3 to Gois.
Approx 10 kilometres you come to a small village called 'Barreiro' after a series of downhill bends.
Turn left to 'Chao dos Santos / Telhada / Carapinhal'.
After 1 km, enter Carapinhal. Casa das Videiras is the house on the right with 3 large brown double doors. |
