| Les Charmes is situated close (500m) to the medieval village of Chateldon where there is a general stores, a newsagents, a pharmacy and a doctors' surgery.
The area is wonderful for walking and wild life.
The apartment has a sunny terrace and a woodland garden with spectacular views.
The accommodation has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 people. There is a living room with a small American kitchen, a bathroom and separate WC.
It can be rented as a gite on a weekly basis or we can provide breakfasts and evening meals. Vegetarians can be catered for.
The accommodation is an upstairs apartment in a chalet style house with a separate entrance. There are 3 bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin bed sleeping 6 people. There is a living room with a small well-equipped American kitchen, a bathroom with electrically heated water and separate WC. In cold weather there is a log fire. Otherwise there are electric heaters in each room. The apartment has a sunny terrace with barbecue and a woodland garden with spectacular mountain views. There is off road parking on the drive. Linen can be provided at a small extra cost. There is a washing machine. A cot, high chair and some baby equipment are available.

Things To Do
|
| Your holiday could be spent relaxing in the garden, basking in the sun, having barbecues. However there are many other possible outdoor activities. Lovely way marked walks can be taken directly from the gite. The area is very unspoilt and there is lots to explore. Nature lovers will enjoy the abundant wildlife: numerous species of flowers and birds, streams with fish, foxes, pine martins, deer and wild boar hiding away in the woods.
There are marked mountain bike tracks in the area, tennis courts 10 minutes away in St Yorre, and rivers and lakes for canoeing and sailing and golf and available near Vichy.
The Puy de Dôme and the Auvergne Volcanic Regional Nature Park is an hour's drive away with spectacular walking, climbing and hang gliding. Vulcania, the volcano exhibition centre and museum, is there.
Vichy, an elegant spa town is 20 minutes away. Concerts, plays and operas are regularly performed in the beautiful opera house in Vichy. There is a 6-screen cinema and there are some good restaurants and smart shops. The town regularly hosts national and international sporting events.
The village of Chateldon has a fascinating history dating from the early middle ages and the whole area is famous for its Romanesque churches, medieval towns and castles. |
