| Bed & Breakfast in a traditional 1746 Portuguese Quinta (Farmhouse) with 4,500 hand painted tiles and beautiful original features. Furnished with antique furniture, many pieces purposely made for the Quinta in the 18th century. We have 8 very spacious suites available, most sleeping up to 6, all with en suite bathrooms, some with separate sitting rooms.
Quinta do Scoto has a long historic past. Napoleon's Army camped in the grounds during their invasion, attracted by the extensive water supplies, aquaducts and stone irrigation tanks. The Quinta, located in the village of Melecas, is within walking distance of 4 cafes and 4 restaurants. A train station in the village provides links to Lisbon and Sintra. Sintra is a 10 minute journey by car and a vast selection of beaches can be found within a 1/2 hour drive.
Breakfast is served in the Entrada and comprises freshly baked bread, cereals, fresh fruit, cheese, ham, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee. If guests prefer, a basket of breakfast goodies can be delivered to their room for them to enjoy either in the comfort of their suite or at one of the many stone tables in the grounds of the Quinta. |

Things To Do
|
| The Quinta is set in 7 acres of rural grounds with interesting historic features for guests enjoy. There is a large swimming pool for guests, surrounded by sun terraces with sun loungers. Adjacent to the pool is a barbecue area with tables and chairs and a covered stone seating area.
A vast selection of beaches can be found within a 1/2 hour drive, including Guincho, Cascais and Carcavelos. Some beaches can also be accessed either by bus or by taking the train to Sintra and then the tram to the coast.
Belas Golf Clube de Campo is located 5km from the Quinta.
Beloura Pestana Golf Resort and Penha Longa Golf Resort are 10km away.
Lisbon airport is 15km away. Car hire is recommended but not essential. Lisbon is 15km and Sintra is 10km away and both can be reached either by car or by train from the local railway station. The Quinta is located in Melecas which is a rural village with cafes and restaurants, and is close to other villages and small towns with many facilities. |

Directions
|
| Quinta do Scoto is located between Lisbon and Sintra. Take the IC19 which runs from Lisbon to Sintra and take Exit 10, signposted Rio de Mouro Estação.
Cross over the first roundabout, pass under the railway bridge and then turn left at the T junction. After passing the railway station on your left, go up the hill to a roundabout. Take the 3rd exit (just over half way round) and continue up the hill to a set of traffic lights.
Turn right at these lights and then immediate left, following the road which bends sharp right, drops down the hill and bends slowly right coming up to a T junction. Turn left and follow the road down the hill to the railway line where the road turns left, runs alongside the railway line and then turns left again.
Quinta do Scoto is located on the right, over a small stone bridge. Pass the main house and take the immediate right turn and the main entrance gate is on your right. |
