Things To Do
|
| The town, Mûr, has several bars, restaurants and a tea bar; it has a summer Friday evening Market.
Close to the Lac de Guerlédan with its swimming, water-skiing, kayaking and other water sports. The lake has several beaches and several restaurants and bars around it.
At the opposite end of the lake is the Abbaye Bon Repos, an ancient monastery ruin which is gradually being restored. There are several restaurants and bars and some shops nearby.
The old railway line - St Méen le Grand to Morlaix - runs through Mûr as a cycle/walking path.
Running from Bon Repos past Mûr and on to Pontivy is the Canal Nantes à Brest - the canal passes under the lake, but it is otherwise open to walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
At Pontivy you can find the Chateau des Rohans open to the public, and loads more.
Cycle hire, kayak hire at our end of the lake; quad bike hire, poney club near Mûr.

| From North - D700 from St Brieuc to Uzel, D35 to our front door in Mûr
From South - D767 from Pontivy to Mûr, follow signs to Loudéac via the D35
From West - N164 until signs to Mûr, in Mûr follow signs to Loudéac via the D35
From East - from Loudéac take N164 until junction with D35, then turn into Mûr
In Mûr our house is just townward of the junction of the D35 with the road to St Gilles Vieux Marché - a few yards West of the Rue Neuve in the GoogleMap. From the Loudéac side (North and East) you can see our lavender blue shutters, and we have lavender blue gates at the end of our very own pedestrian crossing. |
