| The Retreat is part of the Mairenui Rural Retreat farmstay complex. This is a 1970s architect-designed open-plan cottage comprising 3 1/2 storeys, & set amongst thousand year old native trees. An unusual timber & brick construction with a concrete roof, it has been described as The Hobbit House! It sleeps up to 7 people, but is perfect for honeymooners! |

Things To Do
|
| On-farm - tennis, petanque, croquet, farm walking, river swimming, catch & release trout fishing on our private stretch of river, 4WD farm tours (weather permitting, extra cost), visiting the foals & stallion of our sport horse stud, feeding the pet sheep & the hens.
Off-farm - we can organise trout fishing guides, rafting (both whitewater & gentle eco-rafting), kayaking, garden visits, golf at a near-by country course, & for the adventurous there is Gravity Canyon with it's bungy, bridge swing & flying fox.
Or just relax on the farm & do absolutely nothing at all! |

1 queen bedroom with private deck, one double bedroom, & one attic bedroom with 2 single beds. Also an extra windowseat bed on the ground floor. A shower/bathroom, separate toilet (both with glass roof & shutters opening to the native bush), & also a toilet on the bedroom level. A sunken livingroom with deck, diningroom, brick-floored kitchen leading to a tiled breakfast conservatory, a laundry, & a gas barbecue under a shelter. | Room Rate
$150.00 if 2 booked for 1 night only. $120.00 double per night if more than 1 night is booked, $50.00 each extra person (children 10 & under half price), with a maximum house price of $300.00 per night.

| From State Highway 1 just north of Mangaweka turn east onto Ruahine Road, direction Rangiwahia. After 10 kms Mairenui Rural Retreat is signposted on the left halfway up the first big hill. |
