| Downtown, spacious, elegant and new, this luxury vacation rental home occupies the 3,250 square foot west wing of a Chicago city house custom built in 1999 to state-of-the-art building codes and modern living demands. With private guest entrance, four bedrooms each with en-suite bath and generous living spaces with paintings and sculpture from three centuries, the guest house is without equal in the Near North downtown Chicago area.
All bedrooms have a queen-size bed with 13 inch deep top-of-the-line mattress, in-room bathroom with Kohler comfort height toilet, private line telephone, cable TV with VCR, walk-in closet with UL-rated wall safe and seating area.
Common areas feature a 45 foot long living room/dining room with sumptuous furniture and significant art, larger screen cable TV with VCR and DVD, a 300 title quality video collection, phonograph with extensive 33 RPM vintage record collection, Baldwin baby grand piano with player function, marble fireplace, all the most popular board games and radio with CD player.
Rounding out the common areas are a fully equipped chef's kitchen with a complete line of professional cookware and service for three dozen, rooftop decks, a study with executive desk and computer, a penthouse lounge, and laundry / workout room with Maytag Neptune washer and dryer, ironing table and iron and new commercial grade Life Fitness Total Body Elliptical Cross Trainer and Recumbent Bike.
Rates include 24-hour breakfast, beverages and snacks from our stocked guest house kitchen, local telephone calls and free parking by permit on our 24 hour reserved parking street. High speed wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is accessible at all points in the house for a modest surcharge. Dial-up internet access is also available. Daily room refreshing is available by arrangment.
Located on Chicago's affluent, upscale Near North side, the house is a neat one mile north of North Michigan Avenue (the Magnificent Mile) and two miles north of the central business district (the Loop).
Within one or two blocks are the Treasure Island Supermarket, a 24-hour Walgreen’s Pharmacy, the only 24-hour Starbucks in Chicago and a stellar full service X-Sport fitness center. Three other major supermarkets are 4 blocks distant. Whole Foods is one mile west as is Sam’s Wines & Spirits, the largest retail liquor store in the US with great variety at great prices. Epicurean and casual restaurants, live music venues, theaters, museums, art galleries and park, zoo and beach are a short walk.
For larger groups, please inquire about combining our anchor facility with our 3 bedroom satellite townhouse just doors away. Or, for smaller groups, our satellite townhouse just might meet your needs.

The guest quarters is 3,250 square feet with private entrance and wonderful common areas, a 45 foot living room / dining room, chef's kitchen, study, penthouse sitting area, rooftop decks and laundry / workout room.
Each of the bedrooms has a luxurious queen size bed and bathroom within the bedroom area. The master bedroom is about 400 square feet including en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The master bathroom has a Kohler steeping tub with whirlpool as well as a separate step-in shower. The midsize bedroom is about 300 square feet, including bathroom with shower that has a tub-sized footprint. The standard size bedrooms are each about 250 square feet, including interior bathrooms with shower with tub-sized footprint. All bedrooms with the exception of the midsize bedroom are on the third level. The midsize bedroom is on the first level.
Extra bedding includes a twin bed in the master bedroom and two twin size rollaway beds that can be set up in the master and midsize bedrooms.
Rates include 24 hour help-yourself breakfast, beverages and snacks from our stocked guest house kitchen, brief local telephone calls and permits for parking on our two block long restricted parking street. The street is wide open during the day and a spot can usually be found without too much trouble at all times of day as people tend to come and go.
High speed Wireless Internet is available at all points in the house, currently for a modest surcharge. There is a Dell desk top computer with Microsoft XL in the guest house study. Dial-up internet access is also available without surcharge if made to a toll free number or if brief (i.e., we just ask that the machine be turned off when not in use). Hairdryers and ironing equipment are available as are a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer and laundry supplies. We have also recently added a Life Fitness commercial grade Total Body Workout Elliptical machine and Recumbent Bike.
