| Maison de Poitiers is a boutique style bed & breakfast situated on the corner of a medieval square in the 12th century Bastide village of Castillonnes, in the Lot et Garonne.
The village of Castillonnes is perched high on a hill and is only 15kms from Bergerac airport.
The Lot et Garonne area is famous for its food, wine, history and its unspoilt beautiful countryside.
It is run by a kiwi who spent the last 15 years working and living in a variery of countries before discovering this secret part of France.
In 1961 the building was featured in the French movie “Tout L'or Du Monde” (All the gold in the world) starring Rene Clair and Bourvil.

Things To Do

| There is a central market place where the weekly market takes place on a Tuesday morning and has taken place every Tuesday since 1259. The market is lively and is well worth a visit.
Castillonnes also boasts lakes for fishing and swimming, a swimming pool, 3 tennis courts, cinema, petanque and horse racing. There are also local events such as vide-greniers, brocante and such like held through out the year.
Castillonnes is an ideal base for visiting local attractions in the area including:

• Visiting historic sites/villages
• Wine museum at Bergerac
• Outdoor activities including fishing, canoeing and walking

The baroque room is truly French and contains the original wallpaper. The room is furnish with a stain covered French double bed, amoire, bedside tables and also contains a desk and chair should you feel inclined to put pen to paper. This pretty room is also located on the first floor. It comes complete with French Louis XVI style antique double bed, matching armoire and bedside tables. It has an ensuite bathroom and if required can be connected to the rouge suite as a family suite. | Room Rate

This dramatic room is located on the first floor. It contains two single beds, large armoire and chest of drawers. The furniture was all sourced from different parts of Asia so is truly unique. It has a separate bathroom located in the hall. | Room Rate

The rouge suite is a very large room located in the far corner of the house, it is furnished with French antique bed, armoire, bedside tables and large chest of drawers. The verte suite is located on the second floor of the house and has a wonderful view of the square and the country in the distance.
