La Pierre Plantée is a quiet modern informal B & B accommodation set in oak woods in the hamlet of Bazalgue.
This is in the region of the Lot, nestled in the stunning area of the Dordogne Valley, just outside the main town of Souillac.
The house stands by one of the old crossroads of the original byways. This is marked by a standing stone, which the house is named after. It is the last house in the hamlet, and the surrounding area has elevated views across the countryside.
Accommodation is for up to 6 persons, with 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 1 bedroom with two adult bunk beds. There is a separate bathroom for the guests, and the use of the communal lounge with TV and dining areas. There is a large garden with a substantial terrace area where breakfast can be taken or for sunbathing and relaxing.

Things To Do

Great area for hiking and cycling on many local tracks. Canoeing and fishing on the Dordogne River. Plus great cave diving in Europes best cave diving sites, also caving, potholing and climbing. Sightseeing at the spectacular villages of Rocamadour and Turenne. Chateau Castelnaud with its intact battlements. Also the caves at Lacave and Padirac. Old trolydite dwellings near Sarlet, and many colourful markets with local produce.

Directions

Autoroute A20(E9) from Paris or Toulouse exit at Junction 55 to Souillac.
From Souillac A20 exit: Come along the D803(D703) for approx 4.5km. Turn left at the sign La Pierre Plantee and Le Saulou.
From Martel: Come along the D803(D703) for approx 7km.
Turn right at the sign La Pierre Plantee and Le Saulou
1.The house is approx 2.5km from the main road. Proceed along the road passing over a crossroads sign posted Bazalgues.
2. After the crossroads take the first turning left sign posted La Pierre Plantee
3. From the turning keep left at the next fork, and keep left at the track sign posted La Pierre Plantee.
4. Proceed down the track to the house at the end.
