|
| Casa Escocia is a fantastic bed and breakfast set at the top of the traditional white pueblo village of Nechite (Valor), in the heart of Las Alpujarras, a beautiful area on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada. You can enjoy incredible views from here all the way down to the Mediterranean Sea.
The village of Nechite (Valor) is simply stunning and ideal if you are seeking a bit of history, a place to relax or a base for adventure.
Casa Escocia has four guest rooms, two of which are on suite, providing you with comfortable accommodation for up to eight people in a friendly, fun and relaxed environment. You have use of a large living and dining area, with a library containing a great selection of music and books and access to a large south facing terrace where you can take in the inspiring views over the region. The terrace is partly covered with large pagoda providing a great shaded area.
Wireless internet is available for those who need access to the net.
Casa Escocia is a great place for families to base themselves particularly during the summer when the local outdoor swimming pool is open (July/August).
Run by Rob & Mary Gray, they ensure everyone has a great time in this fantastic region in the south of Spain.
Mary makes fantastic home cooked meals for guests and prices for this include all your drinks.
Casa Escocia is ideally located for you to explore Las Alpujarras, visit Granada city and the Alhambra or head for the beaches of the Costa Tropical or Costa Almeria.
With many fiestas, activities and adventures available locally you will never get bored.
Built on the edge of the Sierra Nevada national park our bed and breakfast, Casa Escocia, allows you instant access onto tracks leading high into the mountains. With amazing terrain and facilities around Casa Escocia, this is the ideal location if you are into mountain biking, snowboarding, walking, mountaineering, horse riding, paragliding etc. We can arrange equipment, guides and bookings and we're always happy to pass on information to you about the area, where to go and what to see.
The famous GR7 trail passes the front of Casa Escocia and many trails lead from the house high into the mountains.
Along with the adventure options we can offer you artistic courses such as Stained Glass workshops, Cooking courses and much much more.
During the winter snowboarding and skiing is on offer at both the Puerto de la Ragua and the main Sierra Nevada ski resort. The smaller fun resort of Puerto de la Ragua is only about 30 mins drive away where you can enjoy cross country skiing, dog sledding and sledging among the activities. The main Sierra Nevada resort is about a 2 hour drive.
The coast is only a 45 min drive with a variety of beaches and resorts stretching along the Costa Tropical and Costa Almeria to choose from.
Local bars and restaurants serve you tapas all day long with a good number to choose from. There are a couple of small local shops in the village but a short drive will take you to several larger towns and cities with all the shopping malls and nightlife you would expect.
It is a truely relaxing part of the country where tradition still holds firm in the lifestyle of the village inhabitants. In the mornings you will hear the shepherds taking their goats and sheep into the mountains to graze and old men still use their donkeys to carry goods through the narrow streets.
A great place for adventure, soaking up the culture of Spain or simply relaxing and unwinding in an area that boasts an average of over 320 days a year sunshine!! |
