The Birsay Outdoor Centre is situated in the northwest corner of the Orkney mainland. The centre has been recently refurbished and offers comfortable accommodation, with all new furniture, beds and appliances. The Centre accommodates up to 30 in 5 bedrooms. Family and exclusive rooms are available. All bed linen is provided. A well equipped kitchen, dining area and small lounge, drying room and disabled access. The Centre is open April to September and for group booking only October to March

Things To Do

The centre is in close proximity to spectacular and varied coastline, scenery and beaches. Nearby at the Brough of Birsay you can see the remains of early Christian and Norse settlements on a tidal island. Overlooking Birsay Bay, the Earl's Palace was used in the latter 16th Century by the Earls of Orkney. The Centre is also conveniently placed to visit Orkney’s 5,500 year old Neolithic Heartland which was granted World Heritage status by UNESCO in 1999, and includes the Ring of Brodgar. Close by are the Standing Stones of Stenness, the tomb of Maeshowe and, in Sandwick, the well-preserved village of Skara Brae.
