Bruintjieskraal is situated in the scenic Grootrivier Poort - the entrance to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area near Patensie in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, a malaria free area. The camp is located in a tranquil setting amongst indigenous trees and riverine vegetation on the banks of the Grootrivier between the Kouga and Winterhoek Mountains.
The Camping Ground has nine stands each with:
Flush toilet and shower
BBQ - Braai Area.

Things To Do

Scenic walks within a radius of 2.5km. Hiking along the course of the river. Swimming. Fishing - bass, carp, barber and eels. Bird watching - Fish Eagles, wild geese etc. Game viewing - Kudu, bush buck, ribbok, duiker, steenbuck. A moderate hike of up the mountain will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Paul Sauer dam and Hanekam mountain peak.

Bruintjieskraal-campsite is situated in the Groot Rivier Poort at the southern entrance to the Baviaanskloof – 1.5 hours drive from Port Elizabeth; 30 km north-west from Patensie; 160 km from Willowmore.
