Property Description

 
La Lavandière is a beautiful stone house which has been lovingly refurbished to the highest standards yet retaining much of its original character and quirky features. Situated in the south of the Vienne an idyllic rural setting in the lovely quiet hamlet of Voulême.

We have three luxury rooms, two double and a twin with modern, spacious en-suite facilities and central heating for the winter months.

Things To Do

The beautiful surrounding countryside is excellent for easy walking and cycling or painting on the banks of the river Charente. For the more energetic there is canoeing, kayaking, horse riding and fishing all close by. The delightful old market towns of Ruffec and Civray are each within a short drive with ancient churches and weekly markets brimming with fresh farm produce where locals gather to catch up on the latest gossip! For golf enthusiasts a bit further south in Haute-Vienne are popular courses with Saint-Junien being the closest. We can provide further details of all the nine courses in the Limousin region upon request.

The Green Room

The Lilac Room

Directions

Travel to the Poitou-Charentes region is easy and painless. It is well served by fast road links from all the channel ports as the A10 / N10 originates from Paris through Poitiers towards Bordeaux.

Voulême is a quiet hamlet close to the Charente River and between the market towns of Ruffec and Civray; 5km from the N10 and midway between the ancient cities of Poitiers and Angouleme.
