| Samaki Lodge is a great location for access to three of New Zealand's national parks.
Nelson Lakes, St Arnaud - Lake Rotoiti is only a 50 min drive. This gives access to numerous walks, boating & kayaking & even skiing in winter.
Abel Tasman National Park - about an hours drive. Take the opportunity to enjoy the sandy beaches, marine reserve, hiking New Zealand's Abel Tasman Coastal Track and exploring one of New Zealand's most picturesque coastlines.
Kahurangi National Park - wonderful mountain ranges, rivers and remote wilderness areas. Walk the Heaphy Track, or fish in the Karamea river and its tributaries.
Outdoor Adventures - Samaki Lodge specializes in planning tailor made packages for outdoor enthusiasts. We can arrange for you to be flown by helicopter into some of New Zealand's most spectacular regions. To whisk you away for a couple of nights into the real New Zealand, whether it's to hunt , fish or just sightsee, we can provide the ultimate NZ Outdoor experience. |

Samaki means 'fish' in Swahili - Richard spent his childhood in Tanzania before moving to New Zealand.
We also have some interesting 'fish' art works throughout the lodge.
Samaki Lodge has a private luxury suite with two bedrooms, bathroom and a guest lounge, all tastefully decorated and with quality furnishings.

| Travelling From Nelson
We look forward to you enjoying Wakefield and the wider Nelson region - one of the best in New Zealand.
Travelling from Nelson take the SH6, just south of Wakefield turn first left onto 88 Valley Road.
Turn left onto Totara View Road. 1.5 km to top of hill on left is Samaki Lodge. Look for our sign. Travelling From Christchurch and Murchison
On S.H.6 as you enter Wakefield village (just past the 70km sign) turn right onto 88 Valley Road.
After 1.7km turn left onto Totara View Road, drive 1.6km to the top of the hill and look for our sign, 'Samaki Lodge', on the left.
