| Mapua is on the doorstep of the largest South Island estuary, significant for its migratory bird life and a great playground for boating, fishing, swimming and kayaking.
Mapua is a lovely village and the ideal place to be right in the middle of the Nelson and Tasman regions' cafés, vineyards, arts and national parks (Kahurangi, Abel Tasman and Nelson Lakes).
Our house is beautifully set on a rise overlooking the large garden with its many trees, shrubs and colourful flowers. Your lovely private ensuite room overlooks the garden and neighbouring native bush reserve. |

Things To Do
|
| Mapua is in the centre of the Nelson and Tasman regions.
Base yourself at The Garden Room while you explore Nelson, Motueka, The Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks.
Visit vineyards and wineries, artisans and crafts people, golden beaches, walking tracks, mountains, sky dive, horse ride, kayak......
You'll only wish you had time to stay longer.
Mapua
There are restaurants and cafés in Mapua itself, which are a relaxed 10 minute stroll from your accommodation.
Wander down and enjoy some smoked seafood, local wines, delicious café food or visit the aquarium, gallery and other retail outlets.
Visit some of the local artisans and hear them passionately discuss their work.
Enjoy a boat tour along the estuary to see the local bird life or go for a swim.
Or just sit on the wharf and enjoy the views, watch the birds or even try your hand at catching a fish. |

|  | The Garden Room
Comfortable accommodation with a difference! The Garden Room is a large room with an attached bathroom. It is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Mapua, a short distance from Nelson and Motueka.
Our house is beautifully set on a rise overlooking the large garden with its many trees, shrubs and colourful flowers.
You can wander down the garden and sit in the reserve on its boundary - listen to the New Zealand birds.
Your room is at one end of our modern home with our living area at the other. The two areas are separated by a locked door allowing privacy for us both.
Unfortunately The Garden Room isn't suitable for children, but if you have any questions - we're happy to help!

Directions
|
| From Nelson
If travelling from Nelson, take State Highway 60 (Appleby Highway which becomes The Coastal Highway) from Nelson (SH6). After approx 11.4km turn right into Higgs Road, follow Higgs Road and after approx 1.1km turn left into Jessie Street.
If you overshoot Higgs Road, don't worry, carry on and turn right into Aranui Road, there's a bottle store on the corner.
Follow this through Mapua for approx 0.9km to Higgs Road on your right and Jessie Street is 0.4km on your right.
From Motueka
If travelling from Motueka, follow the Coastal Highway - this is straight over the roundabout as you leave Motueka (second exit). Follow the road and it becomes Strafford Drive, although this is not particularly obvious.
Approx 15.2km from leaving Motueka, veer left onto Aranui Road to Mapua. The main highway curves to the right at this point. There is a bottle store on the corner.
Go through Mapua for approx 0.9km to Higgs Road on your right and Jessie Street is 0.4km on your right. |
