| William Miller, proprietor of the Rogers and Miller Marbleworks, built this Greek-Revival style home about 1869. The charm of the original marble mantles, period window glass, and architectural details have been carefully preserved while the "necessities" of today: air conditioning, updated plumbing and electrical systems, and newly-tiled baths serve to pamper you. Previously featured on the Fan District Association's Holiday House Tour, this Bed and Breakfast offers two guest rooms, one with queen bed and the other with king bed. Each features an en-suite, private bath offering both bath tub and shower. Rooms are graciously-sized and incorporate a sitting area; however, guests are invited to relax in the delightful parlor with fireplace on the main floor or enjoy the porch and patio area in temperate weather. Your full gourmet breakfast is served each morning on a collection of platters acquired during European travels. Resident cockapoos, Nuggett and Sandi, stand ready to accompany you to the porch - should you invite their company.

This large room features a king-sized brass bed, sitting area, desk area, en suite bathroom, and closet space - actually a walk-in closet. The nostalgic pedestal sink and old-fashioned beadboard paneling join with a tile floor and elegant wallpaper to furnish the ample bath retreat, featuring a whirlpool tub for lingering relaxation and a separate shower for a quick refresh. A boldly patterned oriental rug sets the color palette and warms the old heart pine floors of the bedroom. The theme for this room comes from the Regency-style bedroom suite: dresser, chest, and desk with classic touches: gold stars, simple, elegant lines, and militaristic decorative elements. A cornice, mimicking details from the furniture, with plaid draperies crowns the brass king-sized bed, which boasts a whimsical print coverlet, pillow shams, a plaid embroidered boxspring cover, and a matching bolster. Two comfortable chairs anchor the sitting area and provide a relaxing spot to chat about the day's events and make dinner plans. The desk in the sitting area is the perfect spot to connect your laptop or pen a note to friends back home. Two windows dressed in shutters and topped with soft shades overlook the side garden with its brick patio and a large magnolia.

White tile floor accented with blue inserts, pedestal sink, beadboard paneling, venetian mirror, and classic lighting fixtures complete the elegant charm of the bathroom. This bright room with three windows in the room, one in the closet, and another in the bathroom, finds the roots of its continental theme in an early 20th century French bedroom suite with floral inlays. Navy walls and a butterscotch ceiling are highlighted by crisp white moldings and window shutters. The paneled wall behind the bed features brass and crystal period sconces for late-night reading. A pair of comfortable chairs and floor lamp provide a cozy nook for enjoying the many periodicals provided for your pleasure. This tree-top room features views of the side garden with its stone terrace and pond; a nature area, visited often by neighborhood birds.
