| Hamlet Downs in the magnificent Derwent Valley, Tasmania offers 4 Star Bed & Breakfast or self contained accommodation in a wonderful rural setting.
The restored farmhouse and adjoining additions offer some of the best Tasmanian accommodation experiences. Our 4 bedroom facility is nestled on 36 acres at Fentonbury Hamlet, a 60 minute drive from Hobart.
Guest bedrooms have ensuite or private bathrooms. The main facility has a lounge room, dining room and outside verandahs. The King room has its own enclosed verandah overlooking the property. Start your day with continental or cooked breakfasts and enjoy dinner featuring our own seasonal produce.
Hair dryers, tv, cd and video players, electric blankets, tea and coffee making facilities are all provided.
Our gardens feature overflowing beds of cottage flowers intermingled with native plants and berry bushes. Walk along our 1.6 kilometre track to our orchard and a series of water ponds where you may see our wild platypus. Nocturnal wildlife is abundant with possums, echidnas, wallabies and bandicoots often seen. Bird watching is a must with over thirty types seen in summer.
Local attractions include the Mount Field National Park and Russell Falls, the Styx Valley and the magnificent South West Wilderness Area.

Things To Do
|
| Ten minutes drive is Mt Field National Park with the world famous Russell Falls. It features many walks as well as winter snow fields.
The Tyenna river for rainbow & brown trout fishing, canoeing and swimming.
Something Wild wildlife sanctuary and old Oust Houses where once beer hops were processed.
Within 30 minutes drive:
The Styx valley (world's largest hardwood trees). The Florentine Valley features many different attractions like Mt Tim Shea. Lake Meadowbank for Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow and Brown Trout. The Salmon Ponds at Plenty, an historic trout hatchery. Glen Clyde House, Hamilton one of Tasmania's premier craft galleries, licensed cafe and open garden. New Norfolk offers historic buildings and Jet Boat rides.
Within 90 minute drive are:
Southwest National Park and Lake Pedder with magnificent views and trout fishing. Hobart, Richmond (vineyards), Central lakes district incl. Lake St Clair National Park. |

Directions

| Fentonbury is 1 hour drive west of Hobart on route to Strahan and is situated between the towns of Westerway and Ellendale. We are just 10 minutes drive to Mt Field National Park.
Road Directions: A1 from Hobart to Granton, A10 to New Norfolk, B62 & B61 to Westerway, C608 to Fentonbury, 65km from Hobart, 1 hours drive.
We have road signs located at Westerway, the Lyell Highway between the towns of Ouse and Hamilton and also at Gully Road Fentonbury. We are situated 500 metres up Gully Road first property on the right.
