Inn of the Tartan Fox
| Built in 1832 as the homestead of the Safford family, the Inn of the Tartan Fox opened in 1999. The house is reminiscent of a country manor house with mahogany paneling, cobblestone fireplace, warm and sunny window seat and a spacious front porch. Each of the four guest rooms have a private bath with heated marble floors, two have a fireplace, all are air-conditioned and are decorated in a different Scottish tartan. A full breakfast featuring the “best scones ever”, fresh fruits and scrumptious entrees is served each morning and features local products whenever possible. Our convenient location makes the inn a perfect base from which to explore Vermont and Massachusetts as well as New Hampshire. Located nearby are 3 colleges, several covered bridges, great hiking and biking trails, antique stores and auctions. |
