|
|
| Granton House is an attractive period house in a peaceful location offering superb bed and breakfast accommodation in the Wye Valley.
Our secluded south-facing garden has uninterrupted stunning views of Coppet Hill which is a nature reserve and as such has interesting flora and fauna. There are numerous paths across the hill. From here one can see the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains beyond, whilst listening to the buzzards flying overhead.
We are within walking distance of the meandering river Wye and the famous Wye Valley Walk. Joshua Cristall, a famous Victorian water colour artist, once lived in the house. The area is ideal for artists. Fishing and hiring canoes can be booked locally as can horse riding, golf and tennis.
Goodrich village boasts it's own Castle that was the last to fall to Oliver Cromwell! There are two excellent pubs serving good food and a village post office and general store.
We offer superior en-suite accommodation in a house of much character. Bedrooms are beautifully furnished with antiques. There is tea and coffee- making facilities and a TV in each bedroom. Our beamed dining room is where we serve delicious breakfasts using homemade bread, preserves and local produce whenever possible.
We are ideally located for visits to Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye, Hay-on-Wye, Forest of Dean, Chepstow, Hereford, Gloucester, Welsh Borders, Cardiff and the Cotswolds. We are less than 2 hours from London by rail and two and half hours from Heathrow by car.
