HYDE WOOD HOUSE (AA Highly Commended Award)


A high quality and welcoming family run B&B originally built as a working farmhouse in a
rural setting. Although it is no longer a working farm it still has stables that help it retain its character.

The house is tastefully furnished with large comfortable en-suite bedrooms equipped with TV and radio and filled with a range of homely extras. There is a large lounge with cosy open fires during winter months. In good weather relax in the sunroom or the garden.

Home made cake and biscuits served on arrival with complementary drinks available on request. Breakfast, full English cooked in traditional farmhouse style on the AGA or something lighter to suit your appetite are taken in an elegant dining room. Our aim is to make you feel at home.

One mile from Minchinhampton centre and close to 600 acres of National Trust common land where you can enjoy wonderful views across the Severn valley. Gliding, golf and riding nearby.

Things To Do

Golf reduced rates for Minchinhampton Golf course. Walking, Places to visit.Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetland Trust. Rococo garden,Owlpen Manor, Berkerley Castle. Westonbirt National Arboretum Çheltenham, Bath , Oxford and Stratfor upon Åvon are all with in hours drive. We can recommend local pubs and resturants for good food with emphasis on qulity and local ingredients.

Directions

nd Directions to Hyde Wood House and The Woolsack

From the west (Stroud and M5)

Leave M5 at junction 13 on to the A419 and follow signs to Stroud.

Stay on A419 bypassing Stroud following signs to Cirencester.

Follow 419 along the Golden Valley through the villages of Thrupp, Brimscombe, and Chalford. (See the map enclosed)

After Chalford the road rises (Cowcombe Hill).

At the top of Cowcombe Hill (approximately 5 miles from Stroud) turn right toward Minchinhampton. (If you go past the disused airfield on the right you will have missed the turning.)

Hyde Wood House is one mile from the turn on the right hand side. Before the house on the right hand side there is polo field and rugby pitch.

At the house turn into the lane marked Hyde Farm and enter Hyde Wood House from the lane.


Note: Ignore the many signs for Minchinhampton along the Golden Valley.




From the east (M4, Swindon and Cirencester,)

Leave M4 at junction 15 and take the A419 following sings for Swindon and Cirences
After Cirencester stay on the A419 following signs for Stroud.

After about 8 miles turn left for Minchinhamton. (Look out for filling station on left about ½ mile before turning.)

Hyde Wood House is one mile from the turn on the right hand Directions to Hyde Wood House and The Woolsack
side. Before the house on the right hand side there is pside. Before the house on the right hand side there is polo field and rugby pitch.

At the house turn into the lane marked Hyde Farm and enter Hyde Wood House from the lane.ter.
