A warm welcome and a refreshing cup of tea awaits your arrival at this charming bed and breakfast situated on the northern slopes of Lake Taupo in the Central North Island of New Zealand. It has magnificent views over Lake Taupo, the Kaimanawa Ranges and the mountains of the Central Plateau.

The property is a member of @Home New Zealand - an organisation on a par with Qualmark standards.

There are two rooms available - a double and a twin with a shared bathroom and a separate toilet. Therefore only up to 4 guests can be accommodated at any one time, assuring you of personal service and attention to detail.

The lounge has a huge floor to ceiling picture window overlooking this view and is a good place to relax with a cup of coffee after a days sightseeing. Breakfast in the dining room also overlooks this view and weather permitting can be served on the deck.

The house is a short walk or drive from the Taupo Town Centre with its many specialities shops, restaurants and cafes. It is also close to all of Taupo's main tourist attractions.

Things To Do

Taupo has many free attractions including Huka Falls, Craters of the Moon, Aratiatia Rapids, Lions Walk around Lake shore. Also available is skydiving, fishing, boat trips on the lake, Huka jetboat ride, Prawn farm, Orakei Korako Thermal Wonderland known as the "Hidden Valley". Because of Taupo's central position it is no more than an 1.1/2 hour drive to most of the attractions of the central North Island including Waitomo Caves, Rotorua Thermal area, Napier Wine region and of course the beautiful Tongariro National Park. A stay of 2 or more nights is recommended. You have the added benefit of returning each night to the same warm welcome and comfortable bed.

Directions

From the north take the Kinloch/Acacia Bay turnoff which is Poihipi Road, then 1st left into Acacia Bay Road, first left again in Vaucluse Drive and drive back towards SH1. When you reach the Lockwood Showhome turn right into Woodward Street,

From the South continue on SH1 over Control Gates bridge, the first left is Norman Smith Street and the 1st right is Woodward Street
