| From active pursuits to a romantic picnic by a waterfall, there is an almost endless list of things to do. You can hike or drive to scenic waterfalls, enjoy mountain scenery or just relax. Visit galleries, artisans or go shopping at the many outlet shops - all tax free. Golf at Wentworth Golf Club and Eagle Mountain Golf Club in Jackson plus 8 other golf courses nearby. Area attractions include the Historic Mt. Washington Cog Railway, Mt. Washington Auto Road and (in winter the Snow Coach), the Wildcat Gondola Ride for views of Mount Washington (open spring, summer & fall), the Conway Scenic Railroad (open spring, summer & fall), Attitash Water & Mountain Slide. and much more including fly fishing, biking, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. Our winter wonderland includes Jackson X-C Ski Touring (200 km of cross-country skiing & snowshoeing), Great Glen Trails (x-c skiing, tubing, showshoeing), and five Alpine ski areas - Black Mountain in Jackson, Attitash Bear Peak, Mt. This romantic first floor guest room is a favorite among many guests. Morning sunlight streams in through the sliding glass doors that open onto a private patio facing the mountains. A comfy love seat at the foot of the bed is perfect for watching a flick on the flat screen TV/DVD/VCR, listening to your favorite music on the CD player, or just gazing dreamily at the flames in the corner gas fireplace. Separate from the main inn building, this romantic two-story cottage for two was converted from the original ice house on the property. Your private patio overlooks the river and offers an ideal place for enjoying the sights and sounds of nature that surround you. This guest room may be configured as a room or as a two room suite. The east facing green and rose bedroom features a wrought iron queen bed, easy chair, TV/VCR/DVD, and cream wood stove (electric). There is a Jacuzzi for two in the bath. Sliding glass doors open onto a balcony with beautiful mountain views across the valley. The room also is available as a suite with an adjoining sitting room with a daybed (and trundle pull out), second TV/VCR, bathroom, and separate balcony. The suite provides privacy ideal for families with teenage or adult children or just more room for you to relax and enjoy your stay. Directions
|
| FROM Boston, RI, CT
1.Follow I-95 to Portsmouth, NH.
2. At Portsmouth, take the Spaulding Turnpike North (NH Route 16) exit.
3. Take the turnpike North until it becomes NH Route 16, following signs to Conway/White Mountains.
4. Continue North on Route 16 to West Ossipee, where NH Route 25 will join from the West.
5. Continue North on Route16 to Conway. You will pass the Route 112 (Kancamagus Highway) entrance as you head into Conway Village.
6. In Conway, follow Route 16 North, turning left at the second light, staying on Route 16.
7. Continue on Route 16 through North Conway.
8. Route 302 will join Route 16 from the east as you enter North Conway (at the Burger King).
9. Follow the combined routes until Route 16 turns right at a traffic signal at Glen (across from the Dairy Queen).
10. Follow Route 16 North toward Gorham.
11.The Inn at Ellis River is about 2.7 miles north of this intersection, and about 1/2 mile north of the covered bridge leading into Jackson Village on the right (DO NOT drive through the bridge on Route 16A, stay straight on Route 16).
12. Our driveway is on the left side of the highway with a lighted sign, just beyond an Exxon station (the second Exxon station you will see after you leave Glen).
FROM Manchester, NH and I-93
1. Turn right onto Route 3A as you leave the airport and follow the signs for I-293 and/or I-93.
2. Take I-293 West for a short distance, then exit onto I-93 North.
3. Follow I-93 North to Exit 23, Route 104 (signed for the Mt. Washington Valley region).
4. Follow Route 104 East about 10 miles until it joins Route 3 at Meredith (left),
5. Then follow Route 3 a short distance through Meredith to Route 25.
6. Turn right onto Route 25 East, toward Ossipee.
7. Follow Route 25 East about 22 miles to a T intersection with Route 16 at West Ossipee.
8. Turn left onto Route 16 North to Conway, about 17 miles.
9. In Conway, follow Route 16 North, turning left at the second light, staying on Route 16.
10. Continue on Route 16 through North Conway.
