The King Family welcomes you to Eagles’ Rock, our beautiful piece of God’s creation set in the magnificent Southern Drakensberg Mountains ( part of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site ), near Underberg and Himeville. Only 7,7km out of Underberg on the Drakensberg Gardens Road. Eagles’ Rock is spectacularly positioned on a mountain plateau overlooking the Umzimkulu river and farmlands with the Giants Cup flanked by the mighty Hodgeson’s peaks in the background. Being owner run ensures a very warm welcome, wonderful hospitality and an enjoyable holiday.

Things To Do

Enjoy the tranquility of our private 25 acres, with pure spring water and lovely views. Take the Duiker or Kingfisher trail, or spend a day hiking in the berg. Bird watch and add to the checklist of over 100 bird species or cast a fly into our well stocked trout dams. Swim in the river , the dams or filtered splash pool. Canoe, paddle ski or row. Tube the river, ride horses, visit San rock art sites, take a 4X4 trip up Sani Pass or simply relax!.

Lammergeier
Bring the whole family and friends to Lammergeier log cabin or Sparrowhawk log and block cottage. Enjoy winter evenings before a cosy log fire.

Directions

Take the N3 to Howick. Take the R617 to Underberg (off route 99 to Howick South/Southern Drakensberg/Underberg). Carry straight on through Underberg for approx. 4 km. Turn right onto the Drakensberg Gardens Resorts Road. Measure 3,7km and find Eagles’ Rock on your right.
