| Renovated farmhouse in quiet little hamlet, surrounded by beautiful countryside and overlooking the Tarn Valley. Off the Albi to Millau road (D999) between the small towns of ALBAN & VILLEFRANCHE D'ALBIGEOIS, deafened only by the singing of the birds, buzzing of the bees and the bleating of the sheep! Part of a small farming community, the house (about 150 years old,) stands in its own ground and although our neighbours are both farmers, keeping sheep for their milk which goes into the production of the famous Roquefort cheese. We are within easy reach of many places of interest, with numerous walks, the most important being the GR36, which passes close by. Baby equipment available on request

Things To Do
|
| WALKING - A large network of footpaths (G0Rs) are well signposted. The GR 36 passes close by.
CYCLING – Bikes are available for hire not far away. You can cycle gently along the river or if you feel more energetic up and down the little roads and paths of this fairly hilly area.
FISHING in the Tarn and other local waterways. Alban has its own little fishing lake.
CANOEING & KAYAC - All along the river, canoes and kayaks may be rented and instruction given. You can "paddle" about locally or take a leisurely trip down the river. Some of the stretches of river are a bit more difficult than others, but nothing the inexperienced can't handle!
SWIMMING - We have a small pool (4.60m dia. & 1.20m deep) in the garden by the terrace so parents can watch their children in comfort! Adults can use it too! CHILDREN TO BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES
HORSE RIDING - 10kms - lessons or trekking in the Tarn countryside. In the unlikely event of it raining, there is also a covered arena!
RELAX in the garden or on the terrace. Many of our guests have found this most enjoyable!
WHAT TO SEE?
ALBI - the birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec, houses the largest collection of his works. The cathedral of St Cecilia is quite breathtaking and has an organ with more than 3000 pipes!! Free recitals every Wednesday evening in the season. The old town of Albi is full of small lanes with old shops and houses, old cloisters and courtyards full of flowers
CASTRES - houses the Goya museum and is has charming houses on the river.
GAILLAC - famous for its wines and vineyards, one of the oldest being over 1000 years old
COUPIAC - Its castle and leisure park.
CORDES - perched high on a mountain top, has steep, narrow cobbled lanes leading up to the town itself with the old covered market square and spectacular views. A Medieval pageant is held here in the season. Around Cordes are several other fortified towns and villages, each with its own charm and history.
CARCASSONNE - Although a 2 hour drive away, it is well worth a visit. A medieval, fortified walled town with 57 turrets and battlements you can walk around.
ROQUEFORT caves, where the famous cheese is matured and shipped to all parts of the world.
AMBIALET in the "oxbow" formed by the Tarn river, is very pretty and has a priory on the top with an 11th century church
