| Mario and Anne welcome guests to their Italian/English family home in Negrar, near Verona, Lake Garda and the Dolomite mountains. We offer accommodation in a large double/triple room with en-suite bathroom.
Tea and coffee-making facilities, a fridge and TV are available in the room, which has its own balcony.
A continental breakfast is served in the comfortable living-room or in the garden in summer.

Negrar is well known for the production of Valpolicella wine, including top of the market 'Amarone' and 'Recioto'. It is only 10 km from Verona, with its opera season in the Arena (June to August) and its jazz festival in the Roman Theatre in June. It is also convenient for Verona’s Trade Fairs, including the world-famous Vinitaly and the International Exhibition of Marble, Stone and Technology; it is only half an hour from Lake Garda and is convenient for travelling to Venice by train.

Mario and Anne will be happy to arrange visits to some of our local vineyards and wineries (‘cantine') during your stay with us. Just let us know and we will arrange the visits – there is usually no charge for this service, but you will need your own transport.
Alternatively we can organize a guided tour of the Valpolicella vineyards with wine-tasting, including visits to some of the less well-known ‘cantine' where you will be able to taste a variety of wines – Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Superiore, Ripasso (if available), Amarone and Recioto.
You will learn about the wine-making process and see the different stages of production, depending on the time of year. You will also see the beautiful hills of Negrar and the adjacent valleys with their vineyards and olive groves.
The tour can be arranged for small groups of 2-4 people, and you will not need your own transport, so there will be no problem with drinking and driving after the wine-tasting.

Directions

| If you arrive in Brescia airport or Milan Orio al Serio airport (near Bergamo), or at other points west of Verona, take the A4 motorway towards Venice (Venezia). After the Sommacampagna exit, follow the signs for Brennero and take the A22 Modena-Brennero motorway * north in the direction of Brennero for 3 km. Leave the motorway at Verona Nord and and be careful to follow the signs to Trento/Valpolicella. At the roundabout take the second exit (direction Pescantina). Follow the main road for about 5/6 km past the exits for Verona, Bussolengo and Pescantina and continue straight on to the large roundabout at San Pietro in Cariano, where you turn right following the signs for Negrar. |
