Wake up to the morning calls of the Tui, one of our wonderful native birds.
We offer one double and one twin room with guest only bathroom facilities, underfloor heating and a wood fire in a relaxing, expansive lounge. Each room has it's own external entrance.
Our home is surrounded by beautiful native bush and farmland with fantastic views of the hills and valleys that surround us. We have a fantastic view of Mt. Karangahake - still full of gold!

Enjoy one of Pam’s scrumptious full breakfasts as you experience the beauty and wonderful peace and quietness.

We enjoy taking our guests for guided walks through the many historic gold mining walkways including the “Windows”. We are happy to share the local history of the “good old” gold mining days while strolling through the wonderful, picturesque historic mining ruins and beautiful New Zealand native bush in the Karangahake Gorge located in Southern Coromandel. The breathtaking views provide many wonderful photo opportunities. Or you may enjoy trout fishing in the Ohinemuri river a few minutes walk from our home.

Winery (5 minutes away)- Great local wines and lunch menu. Patchwork – Pamela’s passion! Farm Visits – by arrangement. Historic train rides (10 minutes away)– travel from Waikino to Waihi and return. Café meals available. PAEROA (7 minutes north west) Antique shops Golf course – 18 hole golf course in a beautiful setting overlooking the Hauraki Plains. Cafes Restaurants - Indian, Chinese, Pizza, burger bar. TE AROHA (20 minutes south) Hot Water Mineral springs WAIHI (15 minutes east) Martha open pit gold mine right in the centre of Waihi WAIHI BEACH (20 minutes east) Enjoy this beautiful long expanse of white sand beach - 10 minutes south east of Waihi. We are happy to help you plan your activities while you are enjoying your stay with us in the Karangahake Gorge.

Directions

We are located about 1.5 hours drive south east of Auckland city and about 1 hours drive north east of the city of Tauranga on State Highway two. We are a mere 7 Kms south east of the town of Paeroa and 20 minutes from the beautiful white sands of Waihi beach to the east.
We are ideally located for day excursions to the Coromandel Peninsula. Check our web site for more specific directions.
