| Avoca House B&B/Homestay offers a relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the Southern Alps close to the unique limestone formations of Castle Hill Rocks - Kura Tawhiti Reserve. We are on the Arthur's Pass "Great Alpine Highway" (SH73) route in Canterbury. Surrounded by the Craigieburn & Torlesse Ranges we have alpine views from every window.
Just one hour from Christchurch airport (under two hours from Greymouth & Hokitika on the West Coast), with outdoor activities or relaxation in mind, Castle Hill Village is ideal as a destination or stopover point in both summer and winter. This area is an adventure playground.
We are 15mins away from 4 skifields, close to Arthur's Pass National Park, Koruwai Torlesse Tussockland Park and the Craigieburn Forest Park. We have beautiful lakes and rivers close by. Sking, fishing, bouldering, rock climbing, mountain biking and walking are just some of the activities available on our doorstep.
Avoca House has a labyrinth for world peace in the back yard. This was built in response to September run a Textile Studio designing and handprinting fabric for quilters & patchworkers and making handpainted silk portable labyrinths.
We have one twin bedroom and 1 double room with the possibility of another double if your party should need it. Guests share bathroom facilities.
Bed and Breakfast or Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
Bed & Breakfast Tariff : $70 per person or $120 per double
Breakfast is a continental breakfast.

Evening meals : We can provide a beautifully cooked evening meal. Please let us know well in advance if you have any dietary requirements.
Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Tariff : $100 per person, or $180 per double
Important Note:
Castle Hill village is a tiny mountain village without shops, cafes, petrol or mobile phone reception.
We have some internet access, no TV but have some NZ DVD's available.
