4 Star cottage adjoining attractive home, in large garden, with excellent views over the Gareloch. Sleeps 2. Rates from £220-£400 per week, inclusive of gas central-heating, electricity, bedlinen and towels. Short breaks (off season) from £140-£180.
The open-plan kitchen/living-room includes oven, hob, extractor, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and washer/dryer. There’s a sofabed, TV, DVD, video, radio/CD-player.
Upstairs, the double-bedded room with adjoining bathroom, has an antique suite, TV, hairdryer, and panoramic Gareloch views.
Cot or single futon available. We provide bedlinen, towels, gas central-heating and electricity.
Outside there’s a patio, garden furniture and off-road parking.
No smoking.
Dogs welcome (sorry, one dog only). An ideal base for exploring this beautiful area of Scotland, on the Clyde Sea Lochs Trail, adjoining the Loch Lomond National Park, within an hour of Glasgow, Stirling, the Trossachs, Inveraray. Clyde Submarine Base is nearby.

Things To Do

| Garemount Lodge is an ideal base for exploring – we’re on the Clyde Sea Lochs Trail, bordering the Loch Lomond National Park. Helensburgh, 4 miles away, has 2 railway stations (south to Glasgow, north on the picturesque West Highland Line), and boasts many independent shops. There’s Rennie Mackintosh’s masterpiece The Hill House, restaurants, golf, tennis, bowling, putting, a swimming pool, fitness centre, and a variety of pleasant walks. The Waverley, Britain’s last ocean-going paddle-steamer, sails from Helensburgh.
Edinburgh is less than 2 hours drive. Less than an hour away are Glasgow, the Trossachs (Rob Roy country) , Stirling or Inveraray Castles, the William Wallace Monument.
There’s sailing on the Gareloch, and Shandon Country Pursuits offers clay-pigeon shooting, quad-biking, fishing, or archery. You can visit castles, whisky distilleries, gardens, Highland Games, museums, art galleries, sailing regattas, golf tournaments.

Directions

| If travelling from Helensburgh, take the A814 towards Garelochead for four miles, passing through the village of Rhu. In Shandon, one and a half miles beyond Rhu, turn right at the "Ardchapel" sign (it's the one shortly after "Stuckenduff/Queenspoint"). Turn immediate left onto a slip road. Garemount Lodge is the third entrance on the right and the first house up the drive. |
