Take a cruise through Queen Charlotte Sound to Craglee Lodge, and be warmly greeted by a mermaid, a friendly dog and your welcoming hosts Rosie & Steve George. Enjoy the serenity and seclusion of your new surroundings and the ease of the friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Just a few metres up from the jetty, snuggled in stunning native bush sits Craglee Lodge, home of the Mermaid. The lodge consists of three levels, and all enjoy unspoilt views over the pristine waters of the bay.
The scent of fresh flowers, the aromas of home baking, candlelight dinners, twin baths snuggled into the native bush and a grotto with fireplace to simply sit and stargaze add to the unique and romantic Craglee experience.
Our resident chef prepares all meals with fresh local produce and ensures that fresh fruit and baking is available every day. Eat indoors or al fresco, from a choice of garden settings or decked areas.
During the evenings take a tranquil stroll through the tracks, softly illuminated by glow worms, or a bottle of wine up to the grotto for star gazing, or simply kick back and relax in our outdoor bath and enjoy nature's symphony.

Things To Do

| Here at Craglee Lodge, we are able to cater for a wide variety of interests: from water-based enthusiasts, to nature lovers, to walkers, and, to those who just wish to kick back and relax.
Small weddings, private functions and corporate functions catered for.
For hikers or mountain bikers doing the Queen Charlotte Track, Craglee Lodge is only a 50 minute walk down from the Track where you could then soak your weary bones in a hot outdoor bath with a well earned bottle of wine or beer.
Water based activities may give you the opportunity to see marine wildlife such as dolphins, seals, native and sea birds and even the occasional orca.
We have a large Luxury Charter Vessel located at Craglee Lodge. We specialise in fishing/diving/eco-tours and overnight cruising charters in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds.

Each queen-size ensuite bedroom has a balcony and boasts stunning views of the sea, native bush and flower gardens.
All beds have quality linen and beautiful hand embroidered duvet and pillow cases. The added touch of electric blankets, bathrobes, hair dryers and New Zealand made soaps and shampoo give you the feeling of being pampered.
There is a separate area off the bedrooms where you can enjoy the library.
The heart of the Lodge is on the top level. A spacious open plan room with wall to wall windows affords a stunning 180 degree panorama of the bay and native bush, this gives you the choice of socializing, a quiet game of chess or immersing yourself in a good book.
A cosy fire place, piano, drums, excellent music, comfortable sofa’s, and large balconies, and an outdoor bar, make it so easy to unwind and relax.

Directions
|
| Craglee Lodge is located in the heart of Queen Charlotte Sound and is accessible by boat or floatplane. We are also connected to the Queen Charlotte track, so walking in is another way of getting here. From Picton there are a number of water taxis companies who service the Lodge throughout the day. The Floatplane is also available from Picton or Wellington. |
