| MASTERTON - picnic at Queen Elizabeth Park, the Genesis Energy Recreation Centre has a hydro slide indoors and a wonderful outdoor pool and the Aratoi Museum is always a definite place of interest for those people who enjoy art, culture and history. Mount Bruce is a must to visit where you get to see bird life to the max! Other activities that are available in Masterton, or the close outskirts, are kayaking, sky diving, quad biking, fishing, golf, guided farm tours, garden visits and much, much more.
CASTLEPOINT - walk up the track to the lighthouse where the view is fantastic.
CARTERTON - visit the Paua Shell Factory or the famous Parkvale Mushroom factory.
GREYTOWN - is full of historical interest, craft shops, cafes and the famous Cobblestones Museum.
FEATHERSTON - the Fell Locomotive Museum is a must for train enthusiasts. Featherston is the last town before venturing over the Rimutakas.
MARTINBOROUGH is reknown for its vineyards. A lovely place to stroll around and enjoy the surroundings, especially on a glorious sunny day. |
