Abbots Thorn

| Abbots Thorn is a homely Dales house built between 1754 and 1850 (we have delved through some archives but this is the closest we can get) and has, we suspect, the only round chimneys in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, reputedly the stones came from Middleham Castle. Central heating, a wood burning stove and modern boiler make sure your stay is warm, comfortable and relaxing.
We offer a warm, friendly welcome to all our guests and they have the option of a double en-suite, twin/super king en-suite or a double with sole use of the house bathroom. All rooms face south and have wonderful views over Coverdale.

Directions

| By car from the south, A1/Bedale turnoff follow the A684 west and follow through Leyburn and Wensley, go over the River Ure and take the next road on the left, signposted Coverdale+ Carlton, follow approx 3 miles and at the “T” junction turn right into Carlton, we are approx 400 yardsup the road on the right, please park on the left opposite.
From the north, A1 to Catterick then follow signs for Leyburn, then as above.
You may travel by train or plane but will need a car as public transport is non-existent in the Carlton areaJ).
