| View the everchanging moods of the Ocean through to the splendour of Mt Cook in the Alps from Blueberry Cottage our friendly hosted homestay in Timaru. Stroll to the beach, Botanic gardens or visit family in hospital. Comfortable walking distance to city centre, busy port, cafe bars/restaurants, shops, art galleries and museum with local history. Step down the piazza to the Summer Carnival with safe swimming in Caroline Bay. Drive outside the city to experience picturesque farmland, rivers, walkways, native bush settings, and much more. Easy access off Highway One, Dunedin from the South and choice of two routes from Christchurch in the North, via villages with local arts and crafts. Take HW8 inland to view the Hydro lakes or visit Mt Cook enroute to Queenstown. Capture the beauty of the mountains in winter from one of five ski fields in the area. Monuments to our local achievers, Richard Pearse pioneer aviator (did he fly first?), Phar Lap the renowned racehourse was born just outside Timaru, Fitsimmons the boxer, Lovelock the sprinter - their history all recorded . Our well appointed twin/superking and double rooms have heaters, electric blankets and televisions with access to sunny private patios. Relax in the bath or shower in our spacious bathroom. Step outside the gate and capture the reflections of the sun and moon rising over the Pacific Ocean. Glimpse the peaks of Mount Cook from the Blue Room or eat your delicious continental breakfast right in front of the Ocean. "Relaxation at its best". |
