| School House Inn is a historic brick school built in 1918 at the peak of Bisbee's mining days. Located one mile west of downtown Old Bisbee in the quiet residential area, the Inn is surrounded by lush green hills and quaint colorful homes. Originally built as Garfield School for grades one through four, the school was converted to apartments in the late thirties and in 1989, it became a bed and breakfast. The original blueprints for the school are dispayed in the stairway which leads to the nine very spacious rooms. In keeping with it's educational days, every room has a school theme. Everyone loves the Principal's Office Suite, the Art Room, the Geography Room and many others. Who would have thought that school could be this much fun. You can even sleep in class! This is a four star bed and breakfast. At the front entrance an award is displayed stating "Fodor's Choice 2006 - one of the world's top establishments selected by the most discerning travel experts". Also, every room has a composition book with guest comments covering everything from hospitality to the incredible flowers and greenery surrounding the big patio. The entries are heartfelt and genuine.
Also, several heartfelt reviews have been showing up on the internet on a sight known as Trip Advisor. This site is worth checking into, because it will gives all travelers a good idea if the accomodations are worthy.
Several "time tested" breakfast ensembles are rotated through-out the week. If you browse through the composition books in the rooms you will read rave reports on the Southwestern Quiche, Deluxe French Toast, Baked Eggs Perfectamente, or Cinnamon Pancakes with Berries just like grandma used to make.
All in all, this is the most fun place of all to stay. Practically everyone gets the giggles when exploring the halls and rooms. For all the hard working folks around the globe, especially teachers, you will find the school house inn to be a treat!
