| Whether you travel by land, by sea or by air: public transport in Portugal is well organised.
The roads are renovated over practically the whole country. If you choose to rent a car, it is a good idea to rent it at one of the Portuguese firms. The prices are among the lowest in Europe, 40 - 80 € per day. Rental on a weekly basis makes the day-price even lower. You must be over 21 and have had you driver's licence at least one year to be allowed to rent a car.

It is rather inexpensive to travel by bus, train, tram and the Metro in Portugal. It is well organized and quite comfortable. The dense network of buses and trains ensures that even the remotest little town can be reached by public transport. |
