| The guest house is situated on the lower slopes of the mountain Grosser Arber (1456m), with great views across the village of Bayerisch Eisenstein to the Bohemian Forest, in the Czech Republic.
The Guesthouse has 13 bedrooms. All of which have en-suite shower rooms, hand-basins and toilets. Most rooms have balconies & lovely views. Each room has satellite TV, DVD player, hairdryer, tea & coffee-making facilities & a file of local information, places to visit, restaurants, etc. (in both English & German). There are 2 single rooms, 8 double rooms and 3 three-bedded (1 double and 1 single bed) rooms. A cot is available at no extra cost.
There is a large breakfast room / lounge which has a lovely open fireplace (lit every evening during the winter season), leather sofas and a small library of English & German fiction, games, puzzles, guide books and maps for use by guests.
A high-chair is available if required. In the garden there is a small children’s play area for the use of our younger guests.
Bayerisch Eisenstein is in the Bavarian Forest, part of the largest wooded area in Europe. An area of outstanding natural beauty, situated in the South East corner of Germany, bordered by the River Danube, Austria and the Czech Republic. It is a great spot for exploring all three countries, whilst enjoying the wonderful scenery of the Bayerischer Wald National Park and the Grosser Arber mountain area. The area has numerous walking and cycling trails, and in winter is an excellent place to ski, with both downhill and cross-country skiing well catered for.
Bayerisch Eisenstein (724m), is on the lower slopes of Grosser Arber (1456m). Gästehaus am Berg is within easy walking distance of the village centre, with all its amenities, the German/Czech border and only 5 minutes drive to the ski lifts & ski schools. Walking, cycling and cross-country ski trails start within 100 metres of the guesthouse.
The historic cities of Prague, Munich, Salzburg, Regensburg, Passau and Nuremberg are all less than three hours away. Making them all accessible as day trips from the guesthouse.

Directions
|
| From Zwiesel Follow the B11 in the direction of the Czech Republic. On entering the village, continue past the petrol station on the left. Past the pedestrian crossing, take the next left, signposted Arber, Bad Kötzting, Brennes. (If you continue straight on you come immediately to the border control point, which you can clearly see from the turning). The road goes uphill, bending sharp left within meters of the junction, Take the 2nd road on the left, as the road bends sharp right. Follow the road round to the right and Guesthouse is 3rd on the right.
From the Czech Republic Not recommended in winter. Follow the road through Zelezna Ruda. Cross the border and immediately turn right, signposted Arber, Bad Kötzting, Brennes. The road goes uphill, bending sharp left within meters of the junction, Take the 2nd road on the left, as the road bends sharp right. Follow the road round to the right and Guesthouse is 3rd on the right.
