Situated just five minutes walk from Russell Wharf in New Zealand's beautiful Bay of Islands, Pukeko Cottage is definitely not your average Backpackers!
High on the hill, looking out to the Bay, this 1920’s ‘character’ cottage enjoys a superb location with beaches, cafes, restaurants and tourist attractions all within easy walking distance!

No dormitories, just comfortable beds in well appointed bedrooms, with cosy living areas and an extensive garden to relax in. You are welcome to make yourself at home here at Pukeko Cottage!

Things To Do

Whilst renowned for it's history and romance the Bay of Islands has something to offer all visitors. Adventure and eco tourist activities for the young [ and not so young], water bourne activities from yachting to fishing to dolphin watching to kayaking. Great restaurants and Historic Treasures such as Pompallier.

Blue Room
Twin beds with own balcony overlooking Matauwhi Bay. Mosquito nets for Summer time use.		Room Rate
$25 per person. Single occupancy in high season $50. Concession in off peak times.
Gold Room
Sunny room with sea views. A duo bunk [ double below and single above] accommodates up to three persons. More usually it is used as double .		Room Rate
$25 per person
Sunshine Supervan
A quaint 1950's caravan adjoining the cottage. A fresh coat of paint and new double mattress give almost selfcontained accommodation in olde worlde style.		Room Rate
$25 per person

Directions

A short but steep walk up from the wharf [ the views are worth it]. From the old Anglican Church take the steep hill , Roberton Rd, and at the top turn right. Pukeko Cottage is the fourth house on the left.
