| Menteith named after an ancient Scottish Graham clan, nestles among mature trees with great views of hills and mountains yet with easy 15 minute access to city and airport. Awake to morning birdsong from your warm spacious room or catch the world’s news on your in-room TV while sipping your morning tea or coffee. In summer a pre-breakfast swim in our pool invigorates the body before a day of adventure exploring the garden city of Christchurch, Akaroa or a return journey across the stunning Alps by train. While enjoying your hearty breakfast in our sunny dining room, Stephen will enlighten you on the specialty honeys produced by the family while you savour the flavours. Our Port Hills room with its magical view from the queen sized bed collects the morning sun while the Copland and Elie rooms with flexible king or twin beds look out onto the garden. Join us each evening for pre-dinner drinks. Fay is an avid spinner of differing fibres and is happy to demonstrate her craft - you are very welcome to try your hand! After a life in tourism mainly at Franz Josef Glacier, our retirement interests include skiing, golf, Rotary, genealogy, travel and our grandchildren. Welcome to Menteith for warm, relaxing hospitality . |

Things To Do
| Discover the delights of Christchurch 'the garden city' and the amazing views from the summit road on the Port Hills surrounding the city. Weekend markets at the Arts centre, the adjacant botanical gardens and museum all interest the visitor. Akaroa, just 90 minutes away offers a great day trip with the opportunity to take a trip on the harbour seeing dolphins, seals and penguins. The day trip on the very comfortable Tranzalpine train especially in winter, and onto the west coast of the island is a memorable trip.
Relax in our indoor heated spa pool or exercise in the heated swimming pool after your busy day exploring. |
