| An attractive traditional town house, renovated, for 4 persons, in a street of terraced houses. Located in the medieval city (La Cite) of Carcassonne, just under the towering walls of the Cite Medieval (a World Heritage site). The house has been tastefully furnished and is fully equipped for a relaxed holiday. All amenities are “on the doorstep” including a boulangerie/patissierie, general store, bars, restaurants. Markets are 12 mins walk. The La Cite and the Bastide, with more bars and restaurants, are 10 minutes walk. There is free local transport between La Cite and Bastide St Louis during the main tourist season. There are many places to visit in the area, apart from Carcassonne which is a “must”, including Beziers, Pezanas (for antiques), Perpignan, Montpellier, the vineyards of Minervois and Corbierres, the Montagne Noir (30 minutes away), the Pyrenees of the Ariege and Andorra (for skiing).

| CARCASSONNE
Located at the heart of the Toulouse-Montpellier-Barcelona triangle, Carcassonne blooms in the plains of the lower valley, inviting you to walk in and out of its streets. From the Bastide Saint-Louis to the medieval Walled City, Carcassonne offers a wealth of monuments to visit and discover!
You can take a leisurely stroll along the streets and be charmed by the buildings and the people you'll meet along the way; or you can be accompanied by the interpretive guides from the Tourist Office, who are intent on restoring the memory of their city.
This area of France provides a multitude of activities and places to visit. There are the historic towns of Toulouse, Beziers, Castelnaudry, Pezanas, Montpellier, Nimes, Narbonne plus the many medieval and hill top villages. The wine, fruit and many local festivals are waiting for you.

Directions

| By Car If you are travelling by car, leave the auto route from Toulouse at the FIRST exit for Carcassonne. This brings you onto the ring road. Turn right at the first roundabout after leaving the auotoroute toll booth, follow signs for Centre Ville, Narbonne and “la Cité”. You will then come to a T junction where you turn left at the traffic lights. At the next roundabout turn right and follow signs to “la Cité”and Narbonne. The medieval city will come into view on your left. Carry straight on at next roundabout following signs “la Cite”. After going up a hill, turn left at “la Cité” sign that takes you to the car parks for the medieval city. After passing the entrance to the city follow signs for Centre Ville and turn left into Rue Trivalle From Carcassonne airport, take taxi or follow signs on Ring Road for La Cite and see directions aboce. |
