LA MARE CHAPPEY Experience the charm, elegance and delightful ambience of La Mare Chappey - a medieval manor house offering luxury chambres d’hotes nestling in the unspoilt tranquil Normandy countryside. La Mare Chappey subtly combines the elegance of a by-gone age with all the luxuries of the present day. The River Douve gently meanders through the manoir’s five acres of rolling grounds - home to a menagerie of local wildlife together with a charming collection of chickens, ducks, and our own warm and friendly Border Collie. Elegant B&B in a traditional 16th century Norman towered manoir having undergone an extensive programme of restoration now boasts luxurious comfortable guest accommodation located off the mediaeval tower, with each room presented in its own distinct style whilst incorporating Touile de Jouy and traditional French fabrics and wallpapers.
All rooms comfortably appointed are spacious and with en-suite bathrooms featuring large corner baths or hydropower showers. Bedrooms are furnished with Louis ivx, canopy or four-poster beds and afford magnificent views over the extensive grounds and surrounding countryside. The drawing room provides a relaxing retreat at any time. a traditional log fire is set to add to the relaxed atmosphere. In warm weather, the terrace - overlooking gardens and the river - is the perfect spot to unwind. Breakfast is served in the large family dining room where the table is full of delicious local delicacies - in the evenings when a "table d'hote" is available for guests.

Although tucked away from the disturbances of modern-day life, La Mare Chappey is within easy walking distance of the tiny village of Néhou with its welcoming restaurant, bar and shop (known for its fresh baguettes and croissants!) and also exhibition to General Patton and within and a few minutes’ drive is the beautifully preserved cobbled market town of Bricquebec.
The town boasts a good selection of shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, an historic chateau and bustling Monday-morning market, famous throughout the region for its diverse range of tantalising fresh produce. A few minutes in the other direction is St-Sauveur-le-Vicomte, which again offers a good range a shops, bars and restaurants, together with its own canoeing centre - perfect for those who like splashing about in water! A special cycling and walking route lies just 400 metres away from the Manoir .
Some of the most glorious and deserted Blue-Flag beaches including Barneville Plage, Carteret, Surtainville, and Portbail - are within a fifteen minute drive. Offer a wide variety of water-sports activities, bustling marinas, and day-trip by ferry to the island of Jersey.

| All Routes Directions As you come into the village Néhou you will see garage take your first right D147 signed Mangeville around the church, The Beauty of La Mare Chappey offers many option of travelling to and from the property being close to all major travel routes just twenty miles from the Cherbourg ferry terminal and l hour Drive from Caen (Ouistreham ferry terminal) 2, hours drive from La Havre and 4.30hr from Calais.Also the Flying options are plane to Paris, then 3.30hrs drive away or take the train which takes 3, hours. Also a fly to jersey and take the 40,min ferry over to Barneville Carteret, which is 15’ mins from La Mare Chappey. As come into Nehou where just down a lane past the church
