| The Buckland - Studio Retreat
features luxury accommodation tucked away in the picturesque Buckland Valley close to Bright, Mt.Buffalo and the wineries of the Victorian High Country. The 4 studios are each a contemporary retreat designed just for two. Each has an open living area with stylish furniture and bedrooms featuring custom build king size Queensland walnut timber beds. Funky bathrooms with double rain water showers and full glass walls allow private bush views..... just watch the peeping wombats.
Guests enjoy every creature comfort - goose down doonas, espresso coffee machine, seductive mood lighting, plush robes and L’Occitane aromatherapy hair and body products.
Each studio has two private decks with an electric BBQ and a well equipped kitchen.
Set amid 40 acres of rolling countryside, adjoining lush bush land, the studios offer amazing views over the surrounding vineyards & chestnut groves to Mt Buffalo. This tranquil setting is only 10 minutes drive to Bright.
These 4 retreats are only the start to a whole “luxury accommodation, good food, feel good - concept”: The Buckland- Café on the premises offers a sumptuous modern Australian breakfast and lunch and afternoon tea menu with a focus on local fresh produce. A continental breakfast buffet is included in all rates for guests of the The Buckland – Studio Retreat.
Local activities and attractions include cool-climate wineries, hiking and abseiling on Mt. Buffalo or exploring the extensive network of alpine 4WD tracks, golf, fishing and horse riding. For some excitement try a tandem microlight flight or paragliding experience or a totally adrenalin inducing helicopter flight over the dramatic cliffs of Mt. Buffalo.
Guests of The Buckland are able to enjoy a delicious five-course degustation menu (Thursday to Sunday) at nearby Villa Gusto’s acclaimed restaurant (has been awarded with one “Chef’s Hat” in The Age Good Food Guide 2007). Bright has many more fine eateries, including Simone’s of Bright (awarded with two Chef’s Hats), renowned as one of country Victoria’s best restaurants. The Range restaurant in Myrtleford (about 30km away) has also recently been awarded a Chef’s Hat in the Good Food Guide. The Buckland is the perfect base for a gourmet break in the Victorian Highlands.
Alternatively, guests can stay put at their luxurious country retreat, cook up a storm on the BBQ and enjoy the piece and quiet. There is no need to see anyone at all – to check in, guests can just insert the code advised when booking and collect the key at their studio.

Directions
|
| Hume Freeway, exit Wangaratta/Great Alpine Road. Follow signs to Myrtleford, from there to Bright. Approx. 6km BEFORE Bright you come to a small township by the name of Porepunkah. At the roundabout (there is only one you can't miss it), take the second exit into the Buckland Valley. Exactly 6 km from the roundabout, turn left into McCormack's Lane.
(if you cross a creek and pass by Villa Gusto, you've gone too far). We are at the end of McCormack's Lane on the right hand side. As a guideline: once you left the Fwy, it will take you approx. 1 hour (80 km) to get to The Buckland.
