| Unique and mysterious hilltop mansion on three acres of gardens with mature oaks and maples, overlooking the Pisquataquis River. On the National Register of Historic Places. Three acres of hilltop lawns with mature oaks and sugar maples look down on the the Piscataquis River, and guests are welcome to laze about on the verandah or take a stroll about the grounds. There are picnic areas, swings and benches for enjoyment and relaxation. Or saunter 400 feet or so down to the historic Carnegie Library on our front lawn. The guests have the run of the Inn---a 5000 square foot structure, private from the owners quarters---with a verandah, a wrap-around porch, and four balconies. Artwork, books and eclectic furnishings can be found in every room. Guests are given as much space as they desire. The atmosphere is informal. You may do as you please.
The grounds are ideal for any event requiring a little class, or a lot if you prefer. In the event that the weather fails to cooperate, the Inn can accommodate up to 50 guests comfortably on the first floor---Yes, even a wedding! A procession down the Grand Stair would make a memorable entrance for a bride! For those feeling an special sense of urgency, there is a Justice of the Peace next door. |

| The Trebor Mansion Inn is located in the heart of Maine's Highland/Lakes Region, some 27 miles south of Moosehead Lake, 12 miles southeast of Sebec Lake, and 11 miles north of Lake Wassookeag. The Inn sits on a 3 acre hill overlooking the Piscataquis River, which runs through the village below.
We are 8 hours from New York City, 5 hours from Boston, about 4 1/2 hours from Quebec and a little over two hours from Portland or Bar Harbor. We are 23 miles north of I-95 Exit #157 at Newport. We are on Route 15, "The Moosehead Trail," one block east of the bridge in the center of Guilford on the hill above the Carnegie Library. Look up---it's the big beautiful yellow and purple mansion on the hill (the color scheme is Imperial Rome meets Han China, in case you were wondering...). Our entrance and parking are in the rear. |
