Things To Do
|
| Torquay by day is a lively town offering shopping, an attractive harbour, and award winning beaches. By night there is a busy night scene of bars and clubs, theatre life and many fine places to eat and drink. If you enjoy a walk, the promenade is lit nightly and the perfect place to take a stroll. From the central location of The Hillcroft, both the town centre and the promenade can be reached within just a 5-10 minute walk.
Within easy reach of a day-trip in the car are Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth, each with their own individual appeal as a seaside town, fishing village or yacht harbour. All are also reachable by ferry and there is a steam train that runs from Paignton to Kingswear (for Dartmouth).
For strollers or walkers the South-West Coastal Path runs round the bay offering some great walking coastline. Take the car from Torquay and within an hour you can reach the unspoilt hills of Dartmoor with a great selection of village pubs and on a clear day, views for miles.

Provence is our two bedroom 'penthouse' private suite. Provence occupies the whole top floor of the building and comprises a double and a twin bedroom, both with exposed stone walls and furnished with antique French beds. The lounge is large and light and has fantastic views to the South-West. Widescreen TV, DVD and freeview are included. The feature bathroom completes the suite with bath and shower over, finished in Welsh slate, and with a stripped wood floor.

Directions

| From the M5 southbound, follow the signs to the A380 for Torquay.
When you arrive in Torquay follow signs to the Seafront (Note as you are coming into Torquay the road splits at Torre Station/Halfords; take the right hand fork signposted Harbour and Seafront). At the seafront turn left and KEEP IN THE LEFT HAND LANE. When you get to the first set of traffic lights, keep left but take the middle (of 3) roads going up Sheddon Hill. Go past Sheddon Hall Hotel and St Lukes Road is the 2nd on the right. The hotel is 50 yards on the left.
