| Welcome to Marlinspike Guest Lodge! Situated in Hout Bay, Cape Town, Marlinspike is one of the premier accommodation venues. Marlinspike Guest Lodge holds a prime position in the Cape Town, overlooking colourful Fisherman's village of Hout Bay, with spectacular, uninterrupted views of the yacht marina, the fishing harbour, Chapman's Peak and Hout Bay beach from every bedroom!
We offer bed and breakfast accommodation in one of our six double guest rooms. Each of which has uninterrupted sea and mountain views as well as en suite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, TV and use of the swimming pool. Two of the rooms can be combined into a family unit (ground floor). If you are a business traveller, or if you just want to stay in touch, there are phones in every room and we are one of the few Western Cape Guest Houses offering optional Broadband Wireless Internet access from all rooms as well as Conference and Office facilities.
Children are welcome (under parent’s strict control of course as the pool is not covered and the balconies are not ‘children friendly’) and while the indoor areas and rooms are non smoking you may take a puff in our beautiful indigenous garden with a variety of fynbos which is unique to this part of the world.
Start the day with fresh fruit salad, cereal, toast, fruit juice and coffee or tea or if you prefer a hot South African breakfast, with eggs of your choice (fried, boiled, poached, scrambled or omelette) with bacon, tomato and mushrooms. After breakfast there is plenty to see and do both in Hout Bay and Cape Town.
We are there to ease the effort of arranging your trip by providing an advanced booking facility for Vehicle Hire, City Tours (Cape Point, Cape Town, Townships or the Winelands as well as coastal and shark diving) and advanced restaurant booking.
Cape Town central is only 20 minutes by car where you may visit Table Mountain, the Waterfront, the Castle and Robben Island not to mention the many restaurants and cultural events that take place there all year round.
If you are here for a conference, where better to relax – away from the bustle of the city but an easy drive in to the Cape Town Convention Centre after a hearty breakfast.
If it’s wine that you came to enjoy, we are close to the Constantia Wine Route and within a 40 minute drive to Stellenbosch. You may choose to sample some wine from our fully stocked bar while you watch the whales who visit our bay almost every year.
When you return, enjoy an evening drink in our cozy lounge and pub where we serve wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks. Our specialty is Foresters Bitter on tap which is freshly delivered from our local Mitchells Brewery. For those cold winter nights we have a large fire place - the perfect place to share the days events.
Dinner is served on request. We are famous for our seafood platter which includes fresh cape rock lobster, mussels (in season), prawns, calamari and line fish. Alternatively you may choose a succulent South African steak, lamb and ostrich. We are also within 1km of two of the Cape’s finest seafood restaurants as well as a steak house and an Italian restaurant.
