La Cachette B&B is close to Sarlat and Domme and a short drive to the picturesque riverside villages of La Roque Gageac and Beynac. Situated in the heart of the beautiful Perigord Noir region of the Dordogne, in an elevated position overlooking the village of Grolejac with wonderful views across to the Dordogne Valley. The river Dordogne winds its way past the village. Rocamadour is an hour's drive.

Locally Grolejac offers 2 restaurants within walking distance (one on the lake and one with a bar), a large lake which is safe for swimming and a sandy beach, tennis court, canoe hire on the river Dordogne and an excellent cycle path which follows the river valley and a new velo route which uses quiet country lanes (we have 2 bikes for hire). There is also a golf course and horse riding close by.

Historic bastide villages, chateaux, picturesque villages clinging to rock faces, prehistoric caves with paintings and grottes with underground river are just a few of the attractions in this beautiful region of France.

La Cachette offers 2 large comfortable double rooms (one with additional single bed), with exposed beams and seating area. Our rooms are named after two of the local chateaux:

Montfort: Large double room with lovely views down the valley and a large private shower room.

Fenelon: Large double (additional single bed) with views across to wooded hills and ensuite shower room.

Our generous continental breakfast is served on the terrace or in the beamed salon. Guests have use of a sunny terrace, which is a lovely place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and take in the wonderful view. There is a shady, terraced, woodland garden with sun-loungers.

Wifi available.

We regret that because the garden is terraced, the property is not suitable for young children.

No smoking inside the house and no pets allowed.
