| Jenny and Nick would like to welcome you to The Rowans. Here you will stay in your own annexe with a kingsize bedroom (or a twin), shower room and well-equipped kitchen/diner. As you have your own facilities we simply supply you with all the food you need to make a substantial continental breakfast and packed lunch, and you eat whatever, whenever and wherever you like. If you wish you can book the 'no-food' option, and use the facilities to self-cater. We also offer a set evening meal by prior arrangement.
The annexe has it's own entrance so you can come and go as you like.
The Rowans is the ideal place for a relaxing, private retreat in the quiet village of Portnalong on the Minginish peninsula of central Skye, away from the frantic pace of modern life, close to the Cuillin range and 30 minutes drive from Portree, the capital of Skye.

Things To Do
|
| On Skye the scenery is stunning, from the magnificent Cuillin range to the coastal cliffs, quiet coves and open moorland.There are plenty of quiet roads and tracks to walk either from the house or within a short drive. The Cuillin range is close by with spectacular walking and climbing for all abilities. Glenbrittle beach is 12 miles away. The town of Portree has a whole range of shops and dining for all tastes and budgets, as well as an art/craft centre.
Talisker, the only distillery on Skye, is 3 miles from The Rowans, and there are many artisans working throughout Skye.
Visits to Dunvegan Castle in the north and Armadale in the south give an interesting insight into the clan history and sometimes violent past of the region.

Directions
|
| We are approximately 35 miles from the Skye bridge.
Follow A87 through Broadford to Sligachan.Turn left onto A863,following signs for Talisker Distillery.
After 5 miles turn left on B8009 for distillery and Portnalong.
Pass through Carbost and past distillery, following signs for Portnalong. After about 3 miles, in Portnalong turn left for Fiskavaig and The Rowans is the first house on the left. |
